Games and Learning

Video games are a past time for many Americans. According to Ars Technica, up to 63% of Americans play video games. This is an expanding wealthy business organization. With all the advancements in technology its no surprise that video games are able to broadcast to a wide audience. Video games have no discrimination against race, age, or religion. Impressive for the gaming industry was that the stress-relieving aspect of the hobby was mostly seen in older gamers ranging from 15 to 65 years of age. This is a market that was intended to bring family and friends together to enjoy themselves.

With these few pieces of informational background, there is now the question of how to link video games and learning. What exactly are you doing while playing a video game? Reading, solving problems, and broadening the imagination of gamers at large. In fact, video games can promote thinking skills, motor skills, and also communication skills. Gamers are developing these skills, and since they are doing something that makes them happy it makes gaming a fun and enjoyable way to learn. So if the early start to learning is what your looking for, pick up gaming as a hobby.
